Cute little place down a close. 2 sweet little ladies greeted us. We had afternoon tea with sandwiches and scones. They were attentive but not bothersome. They had delicious looking desserts in their case but they only take cash so we were unable to add those on to take away.

This is a cute, little tea room hidden in a "close" off the Royal Mile.
We dropped in for tea a small bite to eat. The entire place is essentially run by only one person, a nice older lady. The whole ambiance is like going into your grandmother's house. The ceilings are incredibly low. The tablecloths and decor are kitschy. The silverware and dishes are mismatched with some slightly chipped.
But we loved our scones. I thought the cream and jams were very good. I didn't try the tea, but my sister thought it was solid. Overall, this was a fun little way to grab a snack and relax in a quiet retreat off the Royal Mile. -

This was such a welcoming and lovely place.. felt like I was at a friends .. the tea and food was amazing loved it all and Christine was a dear lady who really cares!!! Wish there were more stars to give!!

Cozy spot tucked away in an alleyway off the Royal Mile. Mismatched table settings, knick knacks, and dated decor actually give this space charm and warmth. The proprietor is a lovely woman who enjoys sharing conversation with her visitors. I recommend a visit for the tea service, served with perfect scones, fresh creme, and quality jams.
